DECISIONS ON APPLICATIONS

All applications are acknowledged by letter or e-mail.
Provided that your application has been received complete, the acknowledgement letter will state the date by which you should expect to receive a response. This response may take the form of either an offer of admission, an invitation to interview, a request for further information or a rejection. The date given will normally be either six weeks after the receipt of your complete application or, where there is a closing date for the programme, six weeks after that closing date. In that letter you will be given a reference number for your application. Please remember to quote the number if you contact the University about your application so that there is no confusion with names.
If you are accepted for postgraduate study at UTM, you will receive an official offer letter from the Graduate School. If we are unable to offer you a place on your chosen program of study, you will be sent an official letter informing you of this.

The Offer Letter
Your offer will be either:

Unconditional
This means that you do not need to send further proof of your qualifications or English language level;
Conditional
This means that you must fulfil all the conditions before you are permitted to enrol. If an offer of admission is conditional on the First Degree examination results or an English language test*, evidence of these should be forwarded to the Graduate School as soon as they are available. Once you have met the conditions your offer will become 'Unconditional.' * see English Proficiency (3.7)

All candidates should apply for a student pass through Malaysian education institutions. We will assist you obtaining the pass once the acceptance of the offer is confirmed. Please allow at least 2 months for processing approval and issuance. Application process for some nationalities may take a shorter time.
